Britax Upgrade

C got a new seat! It's a Britax Boulevard. He seems to enjoy the new outlook. I can't wait until we can turn it around and he faces forward, I bet he'll enjoy that too!
Also, he's getting his first tooth and that would be why he's chewing on E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!
We'll try to snap a photo of the little tooth once it makes it's complete appearance.

O Tannenbaum

What are babies attracted to? Lights and shiny objects

What does every modern day Christmas tree have?
Lights check
Shiny ornaments check
C isn't crawling yet, but I would think that a large, shiny, bright tree in the corner might compell him to start trying even harder.

Aunty Jenn in Annapolis

We took some time to take Aunty Jenn to Annapolis so we could show her where her friend Katie went (goes) to school. It was a cold afternoon but I made sure to bundle C up in layers upon layers so he kept warm.
We happened upon some boat races, our initial thought was that it was the middies (midshipmen) from the Naval Academy, but after closer inspection it seemed to just be a local sailing club. But it was pretty neat anyway.

Aunty Jenn

Aunty Jenn finished up her CIT training and headed north to spend some time with us and Little C. She helped us decorate for the holidays. We put up our fake prelit tree (I make note of this because I was completely anti-fake trees until we actually got one) and managed to decorate it. C enjoyed playing with the beaded garland.

Thanksgiving

C enjoyed his first Thanksgiving. The festivities started at school on Friday November 16th, they held "Special Friends and Grandparents Day" unfortunately he wasn't feeling well and didn't make it to school that day. In preparation for the day the teachers helped the kids make these fun headbands.

On the actual day, we all ventured north to Baltimore to spend the day with the Abbas' and other family members. Here is C with Pop Pop and below with an aunt and some cousins. We missed Miss 'P' she was napping and missed the party.

As far as food goes, he enjoyed Aunt Gail's sweet potatoes, Grandma's stuffing and turkey, but for some reason didn't seem to like the taste or texture of the mashed potatoes. It was fun giving him some new foods to try.

The unthinkable...

With the age of digital photos where you can take as many as you want and only print what you actually need it's given parents an opportunity to capture all of the moments, and by all of the moments I really do mean all of them. That's right this is C's current pooping face. Sorry kid, it was just too funny not to take a snap shot of!

Play House

A coworker of mine was so generous and passed us this Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Learning Home it's so cute. It makes all kinds of noises. So far he's learned how to open and close the door which makes corresponding noises and push the doorbell. He really likes to play with it. We even played peek a boo with the window. Thanks VI.

Mug Shots

WANTED: For travel to a tropical destination this coming January!
We've applied for our passport and we got tickets to the Dominican Republic for a trip this winter. Gamma and Gappa will be joining us since we won't be visiting for Christmas. We all love getting out of the cold, cold winter weather and heading somewhere south. Of course this means that I'm already beginning to worry about what we'll need to take. We've reserved a crib, but the travel agent said it's not guaranteed and they often don't meet US safety standards, so I'm sure it's painted with lead paint! Anyhow, I'm sure it will be fine. C will get to put his feet in the sand and we'll all get some much needed reprieve from work and winter!

8 Months with Jack

C seems to be leaving Jack in the dust. I can no longer get him to sit with Jack, it's enough trying to keep him in the same chair. He's 8 months now, wearing 6-9 month clothing (tightly) and in size 4 diapers. He's scooting now on his bottom, you can put him down and he'll move a little bit. He pulled up on his own and I'm sure mobility and crawling isn't far off! Then I'll be chasing more and blogging less!

Waterfoul Festival

Eric and I generally make the trip to Easton to the annual Waterfoul Festival, this of course was C's first year. We enjoyed many of the exhibits, signed C up for DU's Greenwing program and even watched and listened to a Master Caller, (someone who calls ducks and geese). I wasn't sure how C was going to react to the calling because it's loud but you can see by this smile that he's destined to be a little hunter with his father.

C in a pop up blind, a seemingly good place to hide during a game of hide and seek.
His first introduction to decoys.

Laughing

The laughs are the BEST part! Eric likes to jump around and pretend like he's going to get C, then he comes in and tickles him!

Sounds

We've had a babbling baby on our hands for some time now, but only recently has he been able to make syllables. Of course it's the first sounds most babies make... da da da da... the women do all the work and the men get all the glory. All kidding aside Eric is a great daddy, and his face just lights up every time C says those sounds. I'm not sure he knows what it means yet, but someday soon I'm sure he will.

Little Chicky

C has a toy bar with Farm Animals, it has two of these little chicky's. He loves these things. The ribbon that holds it on the toy is more of a strap type fabric, he loves the texture and puts it in his mouth constantly.

I love this series of pictures because you can really see how expressive he is. One minute he's smiling and the next he's perplexed.

Peas

We experimented with new food, peas!!! I made some peas, which isn't the most appealing thing as I can't get the consistency just right, using the food processor it's still a little lumpy. He eats it, but the first bit he generally gags. Last night we mixed it with carrots which seem to help the consistency, but he still prefers squash and fruit.

Guitar Hero

Have you heard of the game Guitar Hero? It looks like C might be getting an early start. I hope he's musical, although I might prefer something besides an electric guitar.

Daycare Literacy Day

Sunny Days had "Literacy Day" on October 31st, which elsewhere is commonly called Halloween. The children dressed as a storybook character, which I only knew of, AFTER I bought his spider costume, so I guess that makes him the itsy bitsy spider. We all had a good time watching the kids. C seemed to be amused until he got frightened by an adult in a cruella de ville costume.
