The Mom Cut

After you have a major life change you always have to get your hair cut. Who knows why. After a bad college break up I got it cut and colored, mom (Grandma) remarked that it looked like a candy cane, anyhow. C was my most recent life change and so with that I got the "Mom Cut". For the past 6 months my hair had been finding its way into a bun or a ponytail, sometimes even a (gasp) hat. So it was time for a change, and a big one I made. I think I got 5-6 inches cut off, but who would actually know since I wore it up all the time?

Eric joked that C wouldn't recognize me, fat chance buddy, since I am his food source!

So there is it, I've got the baby, I've got the somewhat wider hips, and now the look is complete short hair.

also, doesn't c look a lot like me in this picture! A pretty good picture considering I put the camera on auto-timer and placed it on the dresser!

6 Months with Jack

I promise I didn't pose little C. But look at him imitate Jack. He was too funny this morning. Look how long his arm looks. He's almost 18 pounds now. I'll update with official stats after our 6 month check up. :)

Sleeper

I love watching him sleep. Sometimes when he falls asleep on me I just let him stay there, he's sooo cuddly. I love that he's getting more active and vocal but at the same time I can't help but begin to miss my little baby.

Mohawk Mania!!!!

Finally some hair that mom can "do". It's not a lot but hey something is better than nothing... just ask any bald guy!
We aren't using any product yet, just a bit of baby lotion, so it only stays in position long enough for a picture. I think he's quite stunned by the look of it!

Fun with Food

Apparently Daddy thinks covering C in food is more fun than actually getting it into his belly. This was funny once, let's just hope next time C gets more in him than on him!

Date night

Eric and I headed to Virgina to drop C with Grandma and Pop Pop so that we could enjoy a night out with a movie and dinner. Our neighbor saw that we were snapping pictures and took this one of all of us. We enjoy the movie, but dinner wasn't meant to be. C cried for over 2 hours so we cut our date night short. bummer :(

One eye open

I'm watching you! He sleeps with one eye open. Shortly after I took this he woke up.

His new toy

It sings, clicks, makes animal noises and even moves! In other words it has all the necessary components to be an annoying toy. It's not that bad (at least yet) and it's nice to see him play with something, so for now we like it. I'll let you know when that changes!

Good Morning!!

Saturday was Mommy's day to sleep in, and man did I need it. Daddy had another photo shoot while I was sleeping, then he grabbed the camera to snap a few of me holding little man. You can see he's holding himself up pretty well now.

Baby Group Gathering....

eek... I almost forgot

4/7 of the baby group were together on Friday. We all met at Mere's house (mother of the famous Baby Cole).

So the baby gossip is....
Baby Brown has started school and has reportedly been cheating on C with another little boy named Brendon. You can see the shock on her face when she realized that she's intertwined with C. She must have thought that she was with her other man!

C might have his sights set on the youngest girl of the group. Here is innocent little Becca all slinged up. When we introduced C to Becca he was quite intrigued and batted at her hands. We'll see her Father is a bronco's fan just like C's Daddy so some game watching is in their future.

Here is little baby Cole, poor little guy has been having quite the adjustment to the outside world. He's pretty much been doomed with the reflux that all the other boys have had. Poor little guy. Feel better soon, so you're Mommy and Daddy can get some rest!

Friendly Visit

Kat & Lee at City Dock in Annapolis

For Labor Day weekend our friends Kat and Lee came to visit. (You'll remember Kat from her bridal shower: http://adventuresofthehfamily.blogspot.com/2007/04/visitors-outings.html) We had planned this visit quite some time ago and were all excited about them coming.

Lee and Kat took to C like white on rice, it was quite natural for both of them. Kat even fed C his bananas and cereal on Saturday night.

Eric and I reminisced about our pre-c days when we stayed up late and slept in. We tried to stay up at late as we could while they were here but C was still up by 6:30 or 7 so it made it a little rough.

Carrots update

They didn't go over so well. He's pretty much mastered fruits, but then they are sweet and yummy! I guess we'll keep trying.

We've got a stash in the freezer of apples, pears, and carrots so I guess we'll just keep trying the carrots.

In Service Days

School was closed last week for teacher in service. Which meant that we got to stay home and play! We enjoyed some football and talking on the phone. We called Daddy at work to say hi, and he actually gurgled a couple goos and ahhas, it was very cute.

Leaning Tower

Tripod sitting sometimes referred to as frog style. C can do it pretty well if you position him correctly. He leans a bit so you have to stay close by, but I'm sure he'll be sitting up in no time.
