Making Baby Food

Maybe you've noticed the new links on the right hand side called "Baby Food Resources" well it's my goal to make C's food. I say goal because I really hope to be able to do it. We'll see how it all turns out. This is my first batch of could you guess??? Carrots. It was one pound of carrots and after it's cooked and processed it comes out to be about 12 ounces, which should be enough for 8-12 servings. He's been eating cereal, applesauce*, and bananas and liking mostly all of it. I think I might call Dr. Schneider to see if carrots would be okay. He's nearly 6 months so we're very close, and he's eating really well at night. In any case if you think you might want to make your own baby food check out the links to the right.

*the applesauce was store bought

Raindrops keep fallin' on my head

But that doesn't mean my eyes will soon be turnin' red
Cryin's not for me
'Cause I'm never gonna stop the rain by complainin'
Because I'm free
Nothin's worryin' me
Bath time tonight and he like his head under the running water, this kid keeps amazing me!

Mommy & C

It's been a while since I put up a picture of C and me. Daddy usually gets to be in all the photos because I take the pictures. But I thought this one was decent enough to post, so there ya go.

High Class Pooper

So we knew we had to dress him appropriately for the funeral and as it happened we had some pretty good looking duds in the next Handmedown bin. Here C is sporting some suede shoes, khaki pants, Ralph Lauren Onesie, and Ralph Lauren Knitted Sweater. He's sooo cute. We got to the church early so that we could be on time and not be rushed. I got him out of his car seat to nurse him and what do I find but a poop-plazooa in his pants all the way to his socks. Of course this would be one of the only times I'm not prepared with another outfit!!!

Bang Bang Bang

Eric went to qualify for a hunting place today. So he came home and was cleaning his gun with the caps, the first time he did it C giggled. So I decided to grab the camera and try again. Of course things the second time around are never as cute as they were the first, but it would be mighty odd to look at life through a camera lens the entire time.

A sad event but a good gathering

It's always nice when a large family can get everyone in one place at the same time, but generally it seems the only time that can happen is for a sad or happy event, a funeral or a wedding. This one happened to be the former. Yia Yia passed away on Tuesday, August 21st. She was 84 years old and it was something that we all knew was imminent (but that didn't make any easier). The funeral and burial were on Friday. Family traveled in from all parts of the country to say their final goodbye. The sparkling stars of the event that you couldn't help but smile at were the babies. Soo many little ones. After all the formal events Jenn & Louie were very gracious and had everyone over to their house. It was great, a home bustling with noise, laughter and love everything Yia Yia would have wanted. In the Greek tradition we say "may her memory be eternal", I can promise that I'll never forget.

5 Days Apart

Posted by Picasa
C had a chance to meet his cousin, "P" this past weekend. We are all still stunned at all of her hair. It's beautiful! She is older but only by 5 days. The babies were due at the end of the month and they both surprised us by coming 3 weeks early. She's very cute and eats cereal very well, C could take a tip from her on that one!

Skinny Dipping

I think we've outgrown the nice blue bathtub. Now we just fill the sink up and let him float. He likes it and we don't end up soaked. So everyone wins! I'm sure we'll be moving into the real bathtub soon enough! Posted by Picasa

The Ring Leader

Introducing Miss O, the ring leader of the baby crew. She's a year and a couple days older that C, in fact C was born on the day of her 1st birthday party. So when all the babies get together (with parental supervision) she's the leader of the pack.

Eye Yi Yi

Well Mom has managed to do it again. The PC bit the dust again. All that happens when you turn it on is a black screen with a flashing white cursor in the upper left hand corner. The blog for all purposes will be down until the PC is fixed again.

We hope this error will be resolved shortly, so that we can continue the regularly scheduled blogging.

Shopping + Camera Phone =

lots of silly pictures

I have a feeling this will be one of many that I take in the course of his life. I can put silly things on him like hats or big rain boots and take a picture to save the memory without spending the $$$.

Little Hot Tubber

He's about to outgrow the wonderful baby bath. He can lean against the back and splash us so well that we're all soaking wet by the time bath time is over. It's funny when we first put him in, he puts his arms down the sides on the armrest and just chills out like he's in a little hot tub, occasionally he even makes it bubble! :)

A Late Introduction

Welcome to the Group Becca!!

So I'm a bad Mommy friend, I missed one of the babies that was born when we were on our big vacation. This is Becca she was born on June 30 weighing 9 lbs 3.5 oz and 21 inches long. She almost got the biggest baby award but missed it by just 0.6 ounces, Jonas had her beat! She's very cute and has a ton of red hair! Now that she's about 6 weeks old her Mommy tells me that she's sleeping well, and of course the rest of us are jealous because when our babies were 6 weeks they weren't sleeping in any sort of recognizable pattern!

The circle is complete

The last little baby was born last week 08/08/07 and weighing 8 pounds (& 1/2 oz). The baby boom of 2007 is now over. Total count 4 boys and 2 girls. Baby Cole arrived in the best way possible, and his mother gets the best labor award.

Welcome new guy, you've got a bunch of playmates already!

An Unplanned Event

On the way home from work Dad was rushing (as usual) and traffic was bad so he decided to get in the HOV lane a bit early and drive on the shoulder. Soon after we heard a loud noise, right after that the light comes on the dashboard telling us we have low pressure in the back tire, also known as a flat tire (yes our car tells us when we have a flat tire). Anyhow we pulled off and got it fixed at Sears. Lucky for us it was in a shopping center so we sat and had dinner. Overall an unplanned event but it all ended pretty well. The picture is from my phone at Longhorn Steakhouse where we had dinner.

5 Months with Jack

Another round of pictures with Jack. This is the monthly photo to show how much little C has grown, note that he would like to learn more about Jack and potentially hold his hand. My little guy is getting sooo big!

The National Zoo

Saturday was such a nice day, the weather turned from hot and humid to moderate it almost felt like September (which thank God is right around the corner). Anyway, I was having a bit of cabin fever and decided that we needed to get out of the house, without spending a ton of money. So DC freebies it is! We called the Bell's and all met at the National Zoo. It was C's first trip and he slept through most of it. But we all enjoyed ourselves. We even managed to see the Panda's.

On the way home we talked about taking him when he gets older. I look forward to going to the library with C when he gets older and picking up some books on Big Cats, or Primates and then taking him to the zoo to see the real thing.

Slight Resemblance?

Does the little guy look at all like little man C? It's his Uncle Ryan. Gappa sent me this cute picture today and it totally brightened my Friday. Look how cute they are! I hope C ends up with the light blonde hair like his Daddy had!

I guess I'll have to get a picture up of me so that we can compare and see who he favors more!

Propped up!

He's propped himself up successfully several times now. He gets a little tired and then makes a little sigh when he's really tired of it. But it's cute it's like a little groundhog or something coming out of a hole to look around.

Active!!!

Little guy gets more and more active as he gets older. He now kicks his legs in his bouncy seat, so much that you would think he would bounce himself out.

The other night we started the drop game, he drops it I pick it up. He enjoys playing with empty bottles I think he like the way they sound when they drop on the floor.

Roll Over

Little guy hit another milestone. He rolled from front to back. The first time he did it for Grandma and then he did it again for me yesterday. Daddy has yet to watch this new action. He also props himself on his arms very well when he's on his tummy. This picture is my desktop at work, so I don't miss him as much... who am I kidding he's a fun kid and I miss him tons!
