The grow so quick

This is a picture from when C was only 5 days old. He had quite the suntan (jaundice). Looking back makes me realize how quickly they grow. Just like grandma said, "go rock your baby, because babies don't keep"

He was also notorious for crossing his legs tight. I don't know when he stopped doing this, but he doesn't do it anymore. :(

Red, Right, Return

We took C out on on the boat for the very first time this past weekend. It's a safe boat for those of you who might be wondering what kind of crazy parents we are. His life vest was a gift from a fellow boater who also took her children boating.

The motion of the water and the hum of the engine meant that little C was conked out for most of the trip.

At one point he did decide that he didn't quite like something that was happening, but once we started going again he was fast asleep.

We're pleased with how it went, we were out for about an hour and everything seemed to go pretty well. We thought about how quickly time passes. We've been in our "new" house for almost 2 years, and how soon it would be C asking Daddy to go fishing, or in the words of his infamous cousin... -ishing.

That's all for now, C is asleep and Mommy should be too, it's a new work week tomorrow and I'll miss the little bugger.

Tee Shirt Head

This was prior to a bath, we thought it was hysterical I'm not sure C was so amused. Now that he goes to "school" everyday they take him outside which means he gets sunscreened up which requires a bath every night to wash it off!

A flower for you Mommy

Solids

At C's 4 month check up we got the OK to start some solids (cereal and applesauce). I was thrilled, I get to feed my baby. Daddy not so much. It took a couple days of convincing before I got my way. The applesauce was a hit but the cereal, well it gave us some good pictures. I can't blame him really because the cereal even smelled bad.
We've decided to set the spoon down for a little bit and try again in a few weeks. It's not necessary for nourishment at this point it's just practice.

The Inevitable

We all knew it was coming, after being home for 128 days (almost 19 weeks) it was time for Mom to return to work and C to go to daycare. A few tears (okay let's be real, a LOT) were shed about this new adventure, but we all knew it would eventually happen, as there is no alternative Mom makes too much money and we spend WAY too much money for me to stay home and take care of C.
This was him on his first early morning going to Daycare, obviously the 5:15 wake up call didn't bother him at all. I must say that I think I have it a bit easier than other Mom's as C is at a daycare center that is on the first floor of my building (and Daddy and Grandma also work there) so I don't feel sooo separated from him.
Also pictured is "Raffi" it's a wuby (luvy whatever you like to call it) he loves anything like a mini blanket and I've decided that this one should be his favorite. It was a gift from his Great Aunt Mary along with the book Never Too Little to Love (check it out: http://www.amazon.com/Never-Little-Love-Jeanne-Willis/dp/0763622672)
In any case we seem to be adjusting well, I keep organized (as best I can) and we're both easing back into work this week 3 days next week 4.

CO Family

Part 2 of the super duper vacation was to Colorado, north of Denver. We visited Eric's family and had a ton of fun. Here we weren't so inundated with LARGE family activities and the change of pace was welcome for everyone including little C.

We went to Rocky Mountain National Park

He got entertained by his older cousin

And we managed to get a really good H Family picture!

We hope to visit often so that the 3 youngest Family "h" boys can get to know each other well. He's only 13 weeks older than the newest member baby "R"

CA Family

It was a whirlwind tour of Central/Northern California, but we managed and C got to meet a lot of his CA Family.

2 Great Grandma's

1 Grandpa (whom he had already met)

1 Grandma (whom he had already met)

1 Aunty

And sooo many cousins I doubt we could even count them

Best Baby Award

Gone are the days of kids getting special treatment on flights. No more visits to the cockpit, no more little plastic wings, and no more free playing cards. It's all changed now.
So for something that C won't remember, it was a time that I'll never forget. We flew 3 times in our 2 week vacation and he was a perfect baby each time. Not the cranky crying kid that all passangers dread, he slept and ate, and then slept some more. The downside was that United doesn't offer changing tables in thier restrooms so we had to change him right in the seat.
These are pictures of when we landed in San Fransisco, he travels in his Jammies.

So much to blog about...

We've had a bit of a hiatus from blogging because we were on a big trip West. We spent one week in California with my side of the family and then the next week in Colorado with Eric's side of the family. So the next few posts will be catch up. Then I hope to be back to my blogging self.

4 Months with Jack

Another one with Jack. C looks a bit bigger but has a bit of an ouchie on his face, either he scratched it with his finger nails or it's a bug bite. I don't like the bug bites but it seems to be part of living outside in Maryland.
