The poor little guy has acid reflux just like his parents and grandparents. He was arching his back and eating every hour, so I knew something was amiss. Eric also pointed out that he was spitting up a ton, and it was coming out in a projectile manner. So we went to see Dr. Schneider, our
pediatrician. Yep, sure enough he has a bit of acid, so he gets acid reducing drops twice a day. Today is day two and he seems to be back to normal, whatever normal for him might be.
The other thing is that Dr. Schneider thought C was still a bit yellow.
Sooo... that's right more blood work. He didn't seem too concerned 99% of time it's something called
breastmilk (or it is breastfeeding) jaundice and it's just a side effect of my milk being a little
incompatible with his system. The other 1% of the time it's a liver function problem or a
hematocrit issue. So we're trying not to worry about the 1%, but of course as parents worrying is our second full time job (the first being taking care of him).
Results will be in tomorrow, and I'll update the blog as soon as I know something. :-)
I also thought twice about posting this because I wanted it to be a happy reflection of his first year, but then I thought that it should be an accurate and true account, so it made the blog. night....
