Splish Splash

He's done it... weighing in at 21 pounds 12.5 ounces he's officially too big for the sink.

The swimming lessons encouraged water play which only left us with a sopping wet kitchen, so we've moved bath time to the actual bath now.

Christmas Catch Up #5

After we had a leisurely morning at home. Great Grandma, Grandma, and Pop Pop arrived in the early afternoon for Christmas Dinner. C got another ride along, but we think this one will go outside come spring time so he can help Daddy dig up, oops I mean, plant spring flowers.

It looked like he enjoyed his stocking, and he sure knew what to do with his container of Apple Cinnamon Puffs.

I think the biggest hit was the marshmallow topping on the sweet potatoes, he LOVED it!

Christmas Catch Up #4

Finally, we're caught up to Christmas Day!
We started the day by ourselves. We showed C how to open his gifts, but he seemed more excited by the paper and the packaging. He also enjoyed playing with Daddy's Sharper Image Personal Groomer (nose hair trimmer).

Christmas Catch Up #3

I think C took up an early New Years resolution no more baby food. It's similar to the common adult resolution of a diet. He's so stubborn, but then I can't imagine where he gets that from! Now he will only take a few bites of his pureed food he insists on feeding himself.
mmmmm.... steak!

Christmas Catch Up #2

Many of C's gift from Colorado arrived early, so they could be under the tree on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, this one didn't quite make it until Christmas, Daddy was a bit impatient. C received this Lion ride on from his Gamma and Gappa. He doesn't quite know how to work it yet but I'm sure one day soon he'll be roaring all over the house. Right now he appreciates it if you push him around, and will yell with disapproval if you stop.

Christmas Catch Up #1

So much to blog about... so I'll start from the beginning.

On December 19th, C's school put on a Holiday production. The infants of course just attended and looked cute, but I was uber proud to see that he wore his antlers (or are they tree branches?) with a smile. The older children sang, and the 4 year old class even recited a poem.

Merry Christmas

As we get ready to celebrate C's first Christmas, excitement filled the air and anticipation of all the faces and reactions that he will have to all of his Christmas gifts. Toys, clothes, and decorations aside we're just happy that we have our family around us so that we can celebrate it together. The best part is that in January all the other grandparents will be visiting.

Ma ma ma ma

Inside Text:
I love you! Happy Birthday!
Love, C
I got my first birthday card from my son, and it was soo sweet, I just had to share. His newest development just in time for my birthday is Ma ma ma ma, and he can also wave bye bye. Hard to believe that just a year ago I was waiting for his arrival.

Gymboree Day

Saturday we headed up north to meet up with Jenn and baby J, and Carrie and baby B. We all had lunch at Red Robin and then went onto our free class at Gymboree. It was comical to watch the babies interact. Baby B slept mostly, but I think she was just too cozy in her carseat. Baby J is such a little cutie he has expressions that are soo different than my little man, so it was fun to watch.
Here J - I can share my red ballon with you!
My Teeth Hurt!!
mmmmm... coke
(not really, she just likes to chew the glass)

The beginning of the end!

After weeks of practice today he finally took off. Don't mind the lack of blogging I'm probably just chasing him around!

Something Sweet

Well I caved, sometime it's more fun to see his face (Daddy's and C's) than say no.

The front desk at swim class has a jar with lolly pops, Eric asked if he could have it. Sure why not. Here are the pictures of his first introduction to candy. I think he likes it! What do you think?

Swimming

We signed up for Mommy & Me swim class with Anne and Scott, co-creators (parents) of sweet C, AKA Baby Brown. Anyway since we're all feeling better we managed to make it to class. Here is the babies and us in the pool.

The daddies with the babies after class. They got to change into jammies for the ride home, where if their C is anything like our C she was probably asleep as soon as we turned out of the parking lot.

These pictures show how uninterested she is in C. It's quite comical I think.

who is this boy?

MOOOOMMMM ... why is he trying to grab me!

Someone take me home please and stop
sitting me next to this strange smiling boy.
And why is he smiling, what does he know
that I don't?

Hello...

I'm cute!

Health Update

C caused a daycare center Health Update Bulliten. Somehow the little guy got pink eye. Poor thing his eyes were all red and crusty. Amazingly, Eric and I have not gotten it. Of course our family is not the picture of health right now, Eric has a cold, I have a sinus infection and C has pink eye. ugghhh I hope we're all feeling better soon!

Grandpa Dane

Grandpa Dane came for a short visit last weekend. We all had a grand time. He took a ton of pictures and since he took so many I failed to bring out my camera and get a picture of him and C together DOH! He'll be back in about 6 weeks for a visit before they make the move to Israel, I'll make it a point to get more pictures then.

Britax Upgrade

C got a new seat! It's a Britax Boulevard. He seems to enjoy the new outlook. I can't wait until we can turn it around and he faces forward, I bet he'll enjoy that too!
Also, he's getting his first tooth and that would be why he's chewing on E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!
We'll try to snap a photo of the little tooth once it makes it's complete appearance.

O Tannenbaum

What are babies attracted to? Lights and shiny objects

What does every modern day Christmas tree have?
Lights check
Shiny ornaments check
C isn't crawling yet, but I would think that a large, shiny, bright tree in the corner might compell him to start trying even harder.

Aunty Jenn in Annapolis

We took some time to take Aunty Jenn to Annapolis so we could show her where her friend Katie went (goes) to school. It was a cold afternoon but I made sure to bundle C up in layers upon layers so he kept warm.
We happened upon some boat races, our initial thought was that it was the middies (midshipmen) from the Naval Academy, but after closer inspection it seemed to just be a local sailing club. But it was pretty neat anyway.

Aunty Jenn

Aunty Jenn finished up her CIT training and headed north to spend some time with us and Little C. She helped us decorate for the holidays. We put up our fake prelit tree (I make note of this because I was completely anti-fake trees until we actually got one) and managed to decorate it. C enjoyed playing with the beaded garland.

Thanksgiving

C enjoyed his first Thanksgiving. The festivities started at school on Friday November 16th, they held "Special Friends and Grandparents Day" unfortunately he wasn't feeling well and didn't make it to school that day. In preparation for the day the teachers helped the kids make these fun headbands.

On the actual day, we all ventured north to Baltimore to spend the day with the Abbas' and other family members. Here is C with Pop Pop and below with an aunt and some cousins. We missed Miss 'P' she was napping and missed the party.

As far as food goes, he enjoyed Aunt Gail's sweet potatoes, Grandma's stuffing and turkey, but for some reason didn't seem to like the taste or texture of the mashed potatoes. It was fun giving him some new foods to try.

The unthinkable...

With the age of digital photos where you can take as many as you want and only print what you actually need it's given parents an opportunity to capture all of the moments, and by all of the moments I really do mean all of them. That's right this is C's current pooping face. Sorry kid, it was just too funny not to take a snap shot of!

Play House

A coworker of mine was so generous and passed us this Fisher Price Laugh and Learn Learning Home it's so cute. It makes all kinds of noises. So far he's learned how to open and close the door which makes corresponding noises and push the doorbell. He really likes to play with it. We even played peek a boo with the window. Thanks VI.

Mug Shots

WANTED: For travel to a tropical destination this coming January!
We've applied for our passport and we got tickets to the Dominican Republic for a trip this winter. Gamma and Gappa will be joining us since we won't be visiting for Christmas. We all love getting out of the cold, cold winter weather and heading somewhere south. Of course this means that I'm already beginning to worry about what we'll need to take. We've reserved a crib, but the travel agent said it's not guaranteed and they often don't meet US safety standards, so I'm sure it's painted with lead paint! Anyhow, I'm sure it will be fine. C will get to put his feet in the sand and we'll all get some much needed reprieve from work and winter!

8 Months with Jack

C seems to be leaving Jack in the dust. I can no longer get him to sit with Jack, it's enough trying to keep him in the same chair. He's 8 months now, wearing 6-9 month clothing (tightly) and in size 4 diapers. He's scooting now on his bottom, you can put him down and he'll move a little bit. He pulled up on his own and I'm sure mobility and crawling isn't far off! Then I'll be chasing more and blogging less!

Waterfoul Festival

Eric and I generally make the trip to Easton to the annual Waterfoul Festival, this of course was C's first year. We enjoyed many of the exhibits, signed C up for DU's Greenwing program and even watched and listened to a Master Caller, (someone who calls ducks and geese). I wasn't sure how C was going to react to the calling because it's loud but you can see by this smile that he's destined to be a little hunter with his father.

C in a pop up blind, a seemingly good place to hide during a game of hide and seek.
His first introduction to decoys.

Laughing

The laughs are the BEST part! Eric likes to jump around and pretend like he's going to get C, then he comes in and tickles him!

Sounds

We've had a babbling baby on our hands for some time now, but only recently has he been able to make syllables. Of course it's the first sounds most babies make... da da da da... the women do all the work and the men get all the glory. All kidding aside Eric is a great daddy, and his face just lights up every time C says those sounds. I'm not sure he knows what it means yet, but someday soon I'm sure he will.

Little Chicky

C has a toy bar with Farm Animals, it has two of these little chicky's. He loves these things. The ribbon that holds it on the toy is more of a strap type fabric, he loves the texture and puts it in his mouth constantly.

I love this series of pictures because you can really see how expressive he is. One minute he's smiling and the next he's perplexed.
